Senegal

Senegal ranked at 10th place on the list of “World Top 20 countries where children are out of school”. Primary education is compulsory and free still, 38% of the children are not going to school, according to the recent states.   There is a huge gap between rural and an urban area that is one of the primary concerns for most the analysts. The rate of OOSC in urban areas is 21% whereas the percentage amounts to more than double in rural areas that are currently at the rate of 49% in urban areas.  Regional inequality and gender gap are some of the main challenges faced by children in Senegal.

Education is a universal right, and this is what LMBS (Let’s build my school) believes. A UK- based charity organization that is working in underprivileged areas. This foundation has completed two projects using sustainable materials like clay and sand.  The physical structure and capacity of the students improved with the addition of a couple of classrooms and an office in the school buildings.
